City Festival Loftas Takes Over Vilnius

Loftas Fest in turning the idea of a standard Lithuanian or Baltic music festival upside town. Second year in a row the festival is offering a possibility to the Lithuanian youngsters to meet the day after under the warm care of their mum’s. Loftas Fest in turning the idea of a standard Lithuanian or Baltic music festival upside town. The general understanding about the festival taking place in the nature near the sea or lake is changed by Loftas throwing a festival in the industrial Vilnius. Second year in a row the festival is offering a possibility to the Lithuanian youngsters to meet the day after under the warm care of their mum’s. The gates of the summer in Vilnius is going to open already this weekend on the May 31st to the 2nd of June.

The line-up of the festival will feature Lithuanian electronic, indie rock and hip hop artists along with headliners from abroad. All together – about 40 artists in 5 stages. Festival’s headliners list starts with Grammy-nominated R&B persona Kelis, without whose hits such as “Milkshake” or “Trick Me”, MTV would have sounded different during the first decade of the millenium.

Another solid position in the list belongs to chillwave and electropop artist from California Toro Y Moi who is going to bring Californian sun and wind breeze to Vilnius with the program from his recently released album “Anything in Return”.

Line-up also includes French electronic music DJ Miss Kittin, dubstep band from London Modestep, also, as they call themselves, ‘very slow’ indie Icelanders Mum, Italian house techno band Tales of Us, Canadian dark ballad singer Chinawoman and many others.

This year Loftas Fest will not only bring the trendiest music but it will also include many varieties of entertainment and art. Cinema space and skater’s corer will be open in the festival area. Also a variety of workshops, conference about trends “WHAT’S NEXT?” and much more.

For the visitors coming from other cities and abroad, camping area under the roof (Loft-ville) will be set up. The area will be situated within the Loftas Festival territory in calm surroundings.

Toeta vastutustundlikku ajakirjandust
